More resolving…
Saturday, December 30th, 2006I intend to eat, drink, and shop as locally as possible in the new year. This means that I’m going to drink locally brewed beer, eat at independent, local restaurants and locally started chains, and shop at local stores that produce locally sourced things.I’ve already identified a few compromises: Until I find a wing joint that meets my standards, Buffalo Wild Wings is still allowed. (It’s local(ish) to my home state, at least.) Clothes are obviously going to be difficult, since nearly everything is made in China or Indonesia or whatever, but I think I can get by with American Apparel and the jeans I have. If anyone knows of any good local clothing shops, I’m interested. I guess I’ll finally get to check out The Man Shop in Arlington, but I think it might be a bit high-end for me.We already shop at a Texas grocery store (Central Market), and from now on we’ll do our best to buy produce and other fresh products produced in Texas. As needs dictate, we’ll have to expand the circle, but we’ll do our best.I guess it’s a good thing that I like Rahr, cause I don’t have much of an excuse for drinking anything else.I’ll keep you updated.

Happy Holidays!
Monday, December 25th, 2006I hope that everyone had a safe and happy day with their families. If you haven’t celebrated your faith’s particular holy day yet, then the same wishes go to you, just a little early. Is anyone else looking forward to New Year’s eve? I know I am. And no, I’m NOT going on Bernie’s New-Years-Eve Fixed-Gear Century of Pain.™Maybe in a couple of months, after I’ve had a chance to shed a few pounds or 20.

Bowl game sounds like fun!
Saturday, December 23rd, 2006Still no grades…
Monday, December 18th, 2006UTA still hasn’t posted my grades for the semester. I thought they were required to be up by Friday of last week, but as usual, things aren’t working the way they’re supposed to.I wish there were another viable option for public schools in this area. UT Dallas is just too damn far away and difficult to get to. The same goes for UNT. And that’s about it. I’m NOT paying TCU prices for a Bachelor’s degree, no matter how “prestigious” they want you to think it is.

Pub Pedal — Thursdays @ 7:30
Thursday, December 14th, 2006I just found out that the crew at Panther City likes to go on a bike ride/pub crawl on Thursdays when the weather is good enough. It’s not every week, but I’ll bet if enough people showed up, we could make it a weekly thing!Hmmm… It looks like I have to work the next two thursdays in a row. Maybe we could do it on a Monday or a Tuesday?I’m also definitely in for the next ride to Rahr!

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl
Wednesday, December 13th, 2006So, I have tickets for the Armed Forces Bowl on the 23rd. I’m pretty excited. I really don’t care much at all about pro football, but I do like to watch college ball. College players seem to be more dedicated and/or honest about why they’re there. Particularly when they play for 2nd tier teams like the ones in this game. (Tulsa and Utah - Who to back??!)It should be fun, I’ll be sure to pass along a full report!
I’m done! (For the semester)
Wednesday, December 13th, 2006Last exam is over! I heard from my classmates that we got a 90 on our final project in Networking. I’m confident that I got a good grade (passing at least) in Marketing, and I’m not concerned about Management, probably a B.I’m chilling @ the coffee shop for a bit, then heading home to SLEEP!
