New “Advertiser” On The Blog

You may have noticed (and if you haven’t, please take a look) a new “advertiser” in the sidebar on the right. I’ve added a rotating list of pets available for adoption through our local pet rescue agencies. You’ll find the city pound, the Great Dane Angel Network, and the Humane Society of North Texas listed, with pictures of available pets rotating through.

If you already have a pet, please remember to have them spayed or neutered, and to give them an extra big hug and scratch on the head (if they like that sort of thing) for me. :)

Awesome. I love it. Did you know that the City of Fort Worth’s animal control kills about 30 - 40 dogs and/or cats per day? Also, the pets that leave the City Shelter (Martin Street) are not necessarily spayed/neutered like the Humane Society of North Texas. What can we do about irresponsible pet owners? I say we start with a Ban on UNattended Tethered Dogs, Permit for breeding or non-spay/neutered pet, quick, efficient puppy classes/videos mandatory before adoption, low cost spay/neuter clinic (which has been funded but seems to be problem with contractor getting enough insurance for City job approval….WHAT?!), and a major marketing campaign in targeted areas of City that teaches responsibility and nature of dogs, their needs, etc.
