The Cowtown Chronicles

Football Party Tonight!

Join me tonight at the Flying Saucer (Now with 100% less smoke!) for the BCS Championship Bowl Game at 7 PM. If the big screen TV is broken, or if can’t get a seat at the bar, we’ll move to a bar to be named later. I’ll try to update this post with details if you’re interested in following.

UPDATE 4:30PM: I just called the Saucer (they have a phone, who knew!?) and the TV is STILL broken. Seriously, guys, get a plasma already…

Anyway, let’s move the party to ummmm… Baker St. Pub on Camp Bowie. Looks like they have decent drink specials, and you un-Americans what don’t drink beer can get a girly drink there.

Look for the big bald guy in a red hooded sweatshirt. (I don’t have any Buckeyes gear at the moment.)

Thanks for the ego check, Fort Worth! Seriously… Sometimes it’s good to be reminded that you’re not nearly as important as you think you are.

Yeah, no one showed up for my football party, not even my friends. Admittedly, it was late notice, but still.

Sorry. I had tix to the Stars last night. I did catch the end of the LSU/OSU game at dinner. I’m sure my dad was kicking the tv by the end of that game.

I stopped watching in the 3rd quarter, and just sort of fast-forwarded through the 4th.

I think Tressel’s days are numbered. LSU isn’t that much better of a team physically or in terms of talent than OSU, they just seemed to be a whole lot better prepared. Taking your team to the championship game 6 times in 7 years or whatever is only so good, you’ve got to win a few to make it really good.

Probably his only saving grace right now is that he consistently beats Michigan, which is usually good enough to keep an OSU coach in a job for a few years.

Come on, man, that’s just mean. At least I’m from there. If you see me rooting on the Cowboys in the next few weeks, THEN you’ll know I’m jumping on a bandwagon.

  6. That’s funny, I went to the Stars game as well… But I did email you at least and told you! Hah! You should have seen me working in Columbus, OH man! You would have loved it. I sported an Ohio State hat and a huge sticker on the back of my truck. They’re all nuts about the Buckeyes there! I had to fit in.
