A Sign of the Apocalypse?

I’m pretty sure I remember reading that new menus at Ol’ South was one of the signs of the Apocalypse. Right after J&J’s Hideaway closing and before TCU winning a football National Championship.

    What are they going to do next? Offer something like the IHOP “Rooty Tooty Fresh And Fruity Breakfast” ?????
    This is an outrage. Do senators Cornyn and Hutchison know about this?

  3. I’ve always found it weird that the new Ol South owners are playing it up like some sort of old antebellum south plantation thing when A) that’s not very “Texas” or Fort Worth, and B) that was probably not the intent of most of the previous owners.

    I also have to wonder if any of the black kitchen staff or clientele have an issue with the distinctly Antebellum theme.

    That’s nothing. I went in and asked if they still had banana pancakes. The teen aged waitress had to go ask. None of the old waitresses would have had to go ASK about a menu item. She came back to inform me that I could have bananas put on top of my pancakes. That’s NOT a banana pancake. I want my banana cooked in the batter, like Ol’ times. Nope. Can’t do that. This is the NEW Ol’ South. Been going regularly for 8 years. No more!
